Technical Sergeant Ybarra is an American Air Force Airman working with the United States Army Rangers in Medal of Honor (2010). He is the highest-ranking charachter in the Rangers' squad the player is associated with.
Tech Sgt. Ybarra is a U.S. Air Force Enlisted Tactical Air Control Party (ETAC-P) attached to Sgt. Jim Patterson's squad, whose task is to coordinate close air support for the Rangers. He is first encountered in Belly of the Beast, where he is attached to Jim Patterson's squad, Bravo One. Alongside Patterson, Dante Adams and Hernandez Ybarra fights his way up through a wadi into the high ground overlooking the suppressed Rangers. After encountering a DShK Heavy Machine Gun, Ybarra calls in a pair of F-15E Strike Eagles to destroy the machine gun, which Patterson marks with Red Phosphorus. The squad then proceed to clear Objective Betty, a landing zone for Chinooks. However, as the squad attempt to clear the huts at the edge of the LZ, an IED detonates and wounds Adams, but the squad recover and try to push back the Taliban. Ybarra attempts to call in Close Air Support, but the F-15s that were supporting them had to return to base. Ybarra then tries to call up support from the remaining Rangers, but as the squad begins to run out of ammunition, Ybarra waves the support away, telling them to save themselves and forget Patterson's squad. However, as the squad run out of ammunition, two Apaches, Gunfighter 06 and Gunfighter 11, appear and Ybarra directs their fire onto the mountains, ultimately saving them.
During the QRF rescue mission of AFO Neptune, Ybarra calls in Close Air Support from F-15Es, and helps the injured Hernandez back to the wrecked Chinook.
- His voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal known as Ben Tennyson. also provided the voices of several other Medal of Honor characters throughout the series, although always background characters, and not a main character.
- His uniform has an air force rank rather than army, because he is Air Force Tactical Air Control Party personnel.
