Franz Gruebner is a character featured in Medal of Honor: European Assault. He is an officer in the German Wehrmacht, in command of a unit of soldiers responsible for defending Mamayev Hill during the Battle of Stalingrad.

Biography Edit

Battle of Stalingrad Edit

On 28 January 1943, an attack force made up of elements of the Russian Red Army launches an attack on Mamayev Hill, a prominent height within the city of Stalingrad. Engel is in command of the troops stationed on the hill and personally leads the defence against the Russians. Among the attackers is Lieutenant William Holt, an American agent with the Office of Strategic Services, who confronts Gruebner in a shootout and kills him.
