The original cover art for Medal of Honor: Frontline (Original Soundtrack)

The Medal of Honor: Frontline Original Soundtrack Recording is the soundtrack album for the game. The music was composed by Michael Giacchino in early 2001. The score was performed by the Northwest Sinfonia and recorded by Steve Smith at the Bastyr Chapel, between June 11 and June 15, 2001.

Different from the score releases of Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor: Underground, the CD album for Frontline was only available through EA Games' online store. A digital release was followed in 2005.

Parts of the soundtrack would also be re-used in several later games of the series, such as the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Expansion Packs Spearhead and Breakthrough, Medal of Honor: Infiltrator, Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, Medal of Honor: Vanguard and Medal of Honor: Airborne.

Trivia[]

  • The Halftrack Chase takes place during the truck drive in the level, The Golden Lion; however, the entire level is spent disabling vehicles to prevent any pursuit. In addition, halftracks are never encountered on the level.
    • This may be the a result of the use of the Frontline soundtrack in both Frontline and Allied Assault: Spearhead, which, in the latter's case, the track is used during the Battle of the Bulge mission in which Barnes must man the PzB41 anti-tank gun on a German halftrack to protect the fleeing convoy of stolen German supplies.
  • The tracks for Seaside Stowaway and Eye of the Storm appear to have switched roles: Border Town is played for the latter, while the former is scored with Shipyards of Lorient. However, despite the closer fit of the tracks to their respective levels, a "seagull-like" motif can still be heard in the level Seaside Stowaway, characterized by its high woodwind tremolos.
  • The version of The Songless Nightingale found in the soundtrack is the song sung by the Germans in the bar in the level, The Golden Lion.
    • The song tells the story of nightingale that was alienated by its flock for its inability to sing. Ashamed, the nightingale flees into the forest where it intends to live the rest of its life; alone. The bird hears the cries of a lost boy and vows to see that the boy returns home. As they traveled through the woods, the nightingale was shot down by a hunter; killing it instantly. Distraught by the nightingales death, the boy begins to cry. With the nightingale buried, the boy was gifted with the singing voice of the fallen nightingale.
  • The tracks Escaping Gotha, The Halftrack Chase, Nijmegen Bridge, Shipyards of Lorient, Emmerich Station, Arnhem, The Rowhouses, Border Town, After the Drop, Manor House Rally, Approaching the Tarmac, Thüringer Wald Express, U-4902, and Clipping thier Wings were later reused in the soundtrack for Medal of Honor: Airborne.
  • The Tracks Kleveburg, Manor House Rally, The Halftrack Chase, Nijmegen Bridge, Arnhem, Emmerich Station, Thüringer Wald Express, Sturmgeists Armored Train and Approaching the Tarmac (labeled Gotha in the game files) were re-used in Allied Assault: Spearhead and Breakthrough.
