AFO team Neptune (callsign: Neptune One) is a unit of Tier 1 operators, all of whom are United States Navy SEALs drawn from the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU). The primary player-character in Medal of Honor (2010), Rabbit, is part of AFO team Neptune.
In 2002 AFO Neptune was deployed into Afghanistan to combat the Taliban and Al-Qaeda threat. Upon reaching their AO, Neptune was to make contact with an informant named Tariq. The CIA believed he had vital intelligence concerning their operations in the region. Neptune encountered heavy resistance from Chechen, Taliban, and Al-Qaeda fighters, but they survive the encounters and secure Tariq in a garage at the far end of the enemy compound. Tariq informs US Special Forces that Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces running as high as 500-1000 fighters are hunkered down in the Shah-i-Kot valley high in the mountains.
Neptune's next mission was to secure Bagram airfield while calling in for close-air-support to assist in the securing of the structure. Over the next few days Neptune performs recon while directing fire support and continue fighting up Takur-Ghar. At the end of the conflict SEAL operator Rabbit is killed while making his way down the mountain.
In the upcoming game, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, it was confirmed that AFO Neptune is now part of Task Force Mako. Preacher is confirmed as the new playable character.
