The Remington Model 870 is a pump action shotgun featured in Medal of Honor (2010) and Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The M870 shotgun, better known as Remington Model 870 shotgun, has been introduced in the U.S military force since the Vietnam War when the army decided to replace the more expensive Winchester Model 12 shotgun with the cheaper yet equally effective M870 shotgun. The Remington 870 shotgun is known as the most popular close quarter combat weapon in the world among police, private security, military and home defense.

Medal of Honor (2010)

Campaign

This weapon is only available during First In. It is capable of dismemberment, and is very deadly at medium range. It also comes with a Red Dot Sight. It is very useful for the close quarters engagement of the level. Ammo is receivable from Mother.

Multiplayer

It is available early to people who pre-ordered the Limited Edition. This weapon has an effective range of close to medium-close. It is possible to hit and even kill enemies beyond that range, the slug attachment can make it as deadly as a sniper, although a follow up shot is sometimes necessary.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter

"The power of the 870 will stop most enemies dead in their tracks. Itʹs one hell of a sidearm."
— Battlelog description

The 870 is a secondary weapon returning in Medal of Honor: Warfighter as a shotgun. It carries four shells in at a time, and a maximum of 26 shells in reserve.

Overview

In both single-player and multiplayer, it is short-barreled with no buttstock. 870 has a Trijicon RMR sight permanently attached.

Singleplayer

The 870 is used for door breaching and by all encountered enemies.

Multiplayer

The 870 is very powerful, but lacks stopping power beyond very short range. Carrying only 4 shells at maximum, the player will be in a tough situation when coming across players with weapons with longer ranges and faster rates of fire.

Trivia

The 870's Trijicon RMR sight shares the same model as the Mini (RDS) seen in Battlefield 4, another game worked on by DICE.
